Through YPP young people build and grow communications skills, gain work experience and credentials, and establish and progress towards personal and professional goals. The program is divided into two groups based on experience and age.
Community Peer Leaders programming focuses on developing young people’s research and storytelling skills through photo and audio storytelling of the history and current status of the neighborhood. The Peer Leaders will need to convey in their design why YPP exists. The modules will need to be both engaging and include historical contexts of Boston and this neighborhood while expressing current challenges people in this neighborhood face. These modules will be used for the Fall of 2023, both recruitment and training of the next group of YPP community peer leaders. 
Dialogue Peer Leaders programming includes developing the skills to facilitate an intergenerational dialogue and will build the technical skills of video storytelling. The Dialogue Peer Leaders will use video to engage a broader audience about an issue they care about in the community and to share the dialogue they host and facilitate to a broader audience.
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
YPP Peer Leader: (ages 14-18)

ABOUT YPP: Youth, Purpose, and Partnership (YPP) is a peer leadership initiative that employs young people from local communities to connect with community members through dialogue and storytelling, all while enhancing their workplace, technical, and leadership skills. YPP utilizes multimedia methods, including audio and film production, along with in-person youth-led discussions, to foster relationships among peers and within the community, driving meaningful change. YPP peer leaders collaborate with various resources and community partners to gain insights about the city and to help shape the vision they have for their community.
Summary:
The Peer Leader Supervisor (Summer) will serve as a key role of support and guidance for youth peer leaders (ages 14-18) employed at YPP. Under supervision of the YPP leadership staff Program the Peer Leader Supervisor will be primarily responsible for maintaining structure, curriculum and policies of the Youth, Purpose &amp; Partnership Summer Program. They will work to develop project plans and support each peer leader to design and track progress against a work plan. YPP’s school year program runs approximately 24 weeks between October and May*; summer program runs 6-8 weeks for the Peer Leaders. Peer Leader Supervisors candidates must be available to start no later one week before programming and up to one week after programming ends. Peer Leader Supervisors are paid $20/hour and work a maximum of 15 hours a week during the school year and a maximum of 25 hours a week during the summer. School year schedule: Monday - Friday 4:30p-7:30p; Summer schedule: Mondays from 9:30a-11:30a; Tuesday-Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm*

Responsibilities include:

Instructional Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Deliver standardized IMPACCT curriculum to students in the Academy, including instruction in work-readiness, self-advocacy, goal-setting, and independent living.</li>
<li>Maintain a positive, structured classroom setting where the standards of work etiquette are upheld, and students feel safe, welcome, productive and successful.</li>
<li>Organize and implement curriculum presenters/workshops on specific topics.</li>
<li>Support students in identifying and utilizing community resources to increase their independent living skill development and greater personal and economic independence</li>
<li>Provide support to work site activities as needed.</li>
<li>Support students' reintegration to sending schools through Exit Meetings.</li>

Administrative Responsibilities

<li>Provide monthly update reports on student progress to schools, parents, and GSIL Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Provide monthly reports on enrollment, school &amp; business outreach, and overall progress to GSIL Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Provide quarterly reports on students' goals to IL Service Manager.</li>
<li>Provide press releases throughout the academy related to business partners, graduation, and student success stories. </li>
<li>Follows up with each high school to ensure that earned ELOs are added to each student's academic record.</li>
<li>Complete end-of-session reports.</li>
<li>Collect follow-up data from schools. </li>
<li>Participate in general GSIL events and activities.</li>
<li>Maintain professional knowledge/skills by reviewing professional literature and attending trainings/workshops.</li>

Education/Training /Experience
