ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Lifeguard is responsible for the monitoring and surveillance of all pool activity within our six lane, twenty-five yard indoor swimming pool. The Lifeguard provides a high level of customer service and ensures a safe positive pool environment. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
 
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure a safe environment in the pool area by maintaining a high level of alertness, taking occasional walks around the deck to ensure safety of swimmers, responding immediately to an emergency, and actively administers first aid or other established emergency procedures.
· Safeguards and regulates conduct of members by communicating and enforcing pool policies, rules and regulations in a personable and professional manner to provide a safe and fun atmosphere.
· May be asked to Instruct and evaluate members in swim lessons.
· May be asked to instruct adult aqua fitness class.
· Begin and end classes on time. Be prepared and clean up supplies used after class.
· Deliver excellent customer service to all members and participants. Greeting members and offering assistance as appropriate.
· Perform sanitary and cleanliness up keep of the pool area and locker rooms.
· Set up pool for various activities such as laps, classes, etc.
· Communicates any potential dangerous elements of the facility to the supervisor.
· Test the water, record results, and report imbalances to supervisor.
· Responsible for the opening and closing of the pool and locker rooms.
· Attends all staff meetings and trainings as required.
· Report all problems and concerns to the Aquatics Coordinator.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Requirements
Education / Experience: High School graduate preferred. American Red Cross CPR &amp; AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Red Cross First Aid for the professional rescuer, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required.

What You'll Do

Lead and assist in fun, age-appropriate gymnastics and movement classes.

What We're Looking For

Background in childcare, sports, dance, theater, or fitness is a plus (but not required!).

 South Shore Gymnastics Academy is hiring experienced instructors for our instructional gymnastics classes. The average age of the students is from 3-12. The hours are after school and Saturday mornings. This is a great opportunity to suppliment your income and make a difference in the lives of children! If you love gymnastics, cheer or dance and love working with kids-this is the job for you!! We offer: Great Pay Fun working atmosphere Opportunity for growth and career advancement Excellent benefits are available for qualified individuals (full time.) Some experience with gymnastics and teaching/coaching is necessary. The Saturday mornings the shift is from 8:40-12. (The shift could be longer or more hours are available if the candidate has any experience with teaching gymnastics and competition teams.) This would be a great opportunity for someone who loves gymnastics and kids to get back inot the gym and share your passion with others!
