Instructional Responsibilities

<li>Deliver standardized IMPACCT curriculum to students in the Academy, including instruction in work-readiness, self-advocacy, goal-setting, and independent living.</li>
<li>Maintain a positive, structured classroom setting where the standards of work etiquette are upheld, and students feel safe, welcome, productive and successful.</li>
<li>Organize and implement curriculum presenters/workshops on specific topics.</li>
<li>Support students in identifying and utilizing community resources to increase their independent living skill development and greater personal and economic independence</li>
<li>Provide support to work site activities as needed.</li>
<li> Support students' reintegration to sending schools through Exit Meetings.</li>

 Administrative Responsibilities

<li>Maintain accurate student records.</li>
<li>Provide monthly update reports on student progress to schools, parents, and GSIL Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Provide monthly reports on enrollment, school and business outreach and overall progress to GSIL Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Provide quarterly reports on students' goals to IL Service Manager.</li>
<li>Provide press releases throughout the academy related to business partners, graduation, and student success stories.</li>
<li>Follows up with each high school to ensure that earned ELOs are added to each student's academic record.</li>
<li>Complete end-of-session reports.</li>
<li>Collect follow-up data from schools.</li>
<li>Participate in general GSIL events and activities.</li>
<li>Maintain professional knowledge/skills by reviewing professional literature and attending trainings/workshops.</li>
<li>Support and uphold GSIL policies and procedures, workplace regulations and safety practices.</li>
<li>Share newsworthy information appropriately throughout the organization.</li>
<li>Conduct other duties as assigned that will increase options for persons with disabilities to live independently in their communities.</li>

Education/Training /Experience
<ul>
<li>College graduate, degree in Education preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge and/or personal or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of special education law, accommodations and modifications as related to IEPs and 504s preferred.</li>
<li>Google Suite including Google Classroom; Docs; Sheets; Slides; Forms, and Gmail.</li>
<li>Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various templates.</li>
<li>Experience working with Database programs.</li>

Job Description
The Family Support Peer Specialist is responsible for visiting the Department of Children and Families (DCF) referred client families in their place of residence within the state of Massachusetts to provide assistance in meeting their basic needs and help parents build self-reliance and family stability and support parent-child nurturing interactions.  Provide education in parenting skills, home management skills, psycho education in Mental Health and Domestic Violence to caregivers and assist families in identifying and accessing community resources. The Family Support Peer Specialist may also supervise visitation between parents and children removed from home by DCF and provide transportation to children and visits while ensuring children’s safety and adequate supervision. Promote and support parental resilience. 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
<ul>
<li>Perform as a member of Community Based Providers, working with the Department of Children and Families.</li>
<li>Visit with each family at client homes or other required location for the number of hours contracted. Maintain ongoing phone contact with clients, social workers and other providers as deemed necessary in helping families reach their goals and lower the level of risk in their homes.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain a supportive, professional relationship with caregivers or parents, empowering them to accept the help and services necessary to adequately provide the basic needs of all household members.</li>
<li>Meet with clients during times of their availability, which may vary according to their work or school schedules. This may include some evenings or early mornings.</li>
<li>Provide goals outlined in the treatment plan, designed to stabilize high-risk families and prevent out-of-home placements of children. Services may include parent education and skills development, budgeting and household management skills and helping families access support and services within their community. Families may have a multitude of issues, ranging from cognitive delays, mental health issues, financial challenges, and substance abuse addictions.</li>
<li>Link clients and families with community resources as needed.</li>
<li>Provide transportation or assist clients in arranging transportation as needed to fulfill their responsibilities as parents reach identified goals.</li>
<li>May assist with housing search and liaise with local housing authority. </li>
<li>May provide supervised parenting visits coordinated with the Department of Children and Families. </li>
