Position Summary: 
The Automotive Technician is responsible for the actual service and /or repair of vehicles assigned to them by service management or their designated representatives. Repairs must be done in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. Ensures that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently and that the dealership’s service department maintains a consistently high level of safety and customer satisfaction that is consistent with Route 24 Auto Group’s core philosophies, principles, and values. 
The Flat Rate Technician will be held accountable to:

<li>Ensure that all company policies, procedures, programs, and strategies are followed and executed effectively.</li>
<li>Implement effectively all the duties, responsibilities, and requirements outlined in this job description.</li>

Principal Duties And Responsibilities:

<li>Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained as assigned by management or their designated representative.</li>
<li>Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures by manufacturer and dealership.</li>
<li>Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.</li>

<li>Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.</li>
</ul>

<li>Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the service department.</li>
<li>Produce quality work that evidence excellence resulting in scores at or above the district average as measured by monthly manufacturer customer satisfaction reporting.</li>
<li>Ensure that customer vehicles you work on are returned to consumer cleaner than they were prior to being serviced.</li>
<li>Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.</li>
<li>Achieve or exceed production schedules and individual efficiency benchmark set by management.</li>
<li>Provide proper documentation, use of troubleshooting sheets and recording of proper detailed cause and correction on every repair order as required by management.</li>
<li>Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or employees.</li>

Qualifications

<li>3-5 years Technician experience</li>
<li>Experience working flat-rate at franchised chain are a huge plus</li>
<li>Ford knowledge is preferred</li>

As an active position, Automotive mechanics are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair. Mechanics must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
