The Program Toxicologist will be expected to take on a highly visible role with internal and external stakeholders through providing scientific and strategic leadership for nonclinical studies in support of BlueRock’s pipeline. The Program Toxicologist will leverage their expertise in toxicology to advance the company’s development pipeline by working closely with program leads and other subject matter experts. <li>Design, execute, interpret, and communicate toxicology strategies in support of the BlueRock pipeline from discovery through development.</li>

Compass Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage, oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company developing proprietary antibody-based therapeutics to treat multiple human diseases. Compass' scientific focus is on the relationship between angiogenesis, the immune system and tumor growth. Our pipeline of novel product candidates is designed to target multiple critical biological pathways required for an effective anti-tumor response. Our Discovery team is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Associate Scientist II. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of flow cytometry, cell culture, in vivo tumor mouse models, and desires to be part of a fast-paced and collaborative team. This position reports onsite to our Senior Scientist.
Base Salary Range: $72,000 - $100,000
Responsibilities: • Support the Compass Discovery teams' efforts in identifying our next drug candidate within established timelines, from antibody characterization to in vivo tumor mouse models • Perform characterization of antibodies and antibody variants through protein and cell binding experiments • Plan and execute assay optimization and culture of cell lines, primary human cells and NHP cells • Perform tissue culture and cellular assays using multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blot, PCR, RT-PCR • Assess the therapeutic potential of candidate drug molecules using in vivo tumor mouse models • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and troubleshoot experiments • Maintain and implement good laboratory practices, including accurate and detailed electronic lab notebook (ELN), instrument and reagent validation, and write/update Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) • Support the maintenance of cell lines and primary cells inventories • Collaborate with R&amp;D team members to support research activities and company goals • Present Discovery team progress and results; communicate effectively internally across functions and externally at conferences 
Qualifications: • Bachelor's or an Advanced degree in immunology, cell biology, immuno-oncology, or similar field • 2+ years of lab experience, with relevant scientific experience • Demonstrated experience with multi-color flow cytometry is required • Proficiency with plate and cell-based assay development (ELISA or MSD), cell culture (cell lines, primary human and non-human primate immune cells/tissues) is preferred • Prior experience with in vivo mouse tumor models highly desired • Proficiency in Excel, GraphPad, FlowJo, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Suite Products • Self-motivated, passionate about science, meticulous, flexible and eager to take on new tasks • Strong ability to troubleshoot in a collaborative team‐oriented environment • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills • Excellent task management, written and verbal business communication skills • A strong desire to positively impact the lives of patients
