The Parent Aides work side-by-side with Department of Children and Families (DCF) and social workers with the families that are in crisis and assist them with attaining resources to stabilize the family unit. This program recognizes family challenges, the cycles of abuse, and works to educate the parents about focusing on changes that will bring success to each and every family.
Primary Responsibility:
Provide direct client services that promote the functioning and wellbeing of the client, including parent education, supervised visitation between children, parents, siblings and significant others. Encourage natural supports, seek community resources, assist with budgeting, nutrition and medical appointments. Assist the family to reach an acceptable level of family functioning and maintenance of the physical environment. Ensure the family is provided a range of instruction, assistance, and support services to improve their skills and ability to fulfill parenting roles and responsibilities.
This position will focus on supporting the northern area of Worcester County.
Essential Duties:
<ul>
<li>Provide education and training in activities related to home management, discipline techniques, communication skills, and other areas as determined appropriate.</li>
<li>Supervise visits between children and their parents and/or others deemed appropriate at the request of the DCF case manager and/or lead agency.</li>
<li>Maintain client records, case notes, family interactions, documentation and file in a complete and efficient manner, meeting all required deadlines.</li>
<li>Provide proper parenting skills activities, role modeling and training, in home management, discipline and communication skills.</li>
<li>Observe, monitor, and assess the client's parenting skills, and provide guidance and/or coaching as needed while client is interacting with their children.</li>
<li>Attend meetings with DCF, referral agencies, individual PA meetings and monthly group meetings. </li>
<li>Comply with policies set forth by Catholic Charities and comply with regulations set forth by DCF and the state of Massachusetts, to recognize and report abuse and neglect as mandated reporters and report/file under Massachusetts law section 51A.</li>

Licenses:

SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Residential Coordinator, the Assistant Residential Coordinator provides support to participants with the goal of maximizing their capacity for personal growth and community membership consistent with each participant's support plan, as well as ensuring effective staffing, scheduling, and operation of the program. Gándara’s Westfield Family Resource Center aims to provide community-based, culturally competent programs that provide evidence-based parent education programs, youth and parent support groups, early childhood services, information and referral, educational support, cultural events, and other opportunities for families whose children range in age from birth to age 18.
The Westfield Family Resource Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of FRC operations. The Manager is also responsible for ensuring coordination with the FRC’s Network Service providers and for managing other external community relations and monitoring community needs. They provide administrative supervision for all FRC staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Develop and maintain a robust volunteer recruitment and retention program; support and supervise volunteers;</li>
<li>Greet family members who walk/call into the program; ensure at least one staff is available to act as a receptionist during FRC operating hours; supervise day-to-day operations of program including administrative and programmatic supervision of all staff</li>
<li>Collaborate and provide outreach to local community-based network of service providers including, but not limited to, any community, municipal, state, federal, non-profit, for-profit, or private sector individual/organization that provides services/opportunities for children and families;</li>
<li>Generate public awareness of the FRC; develop and implement a robust outreach plan to proactively bring families into the FRC; engage with court clerks, probation officers, juvenile court judges, school principals, school adjustment counselors, school guidance counselors, police, community-based family agencies, health and behavioral health facilities, after-school and out-of-school programs, and neighborhood associations; actively engage in the planning process and implementation of community and Coalition events;</li>
<li>Ensure confidentiality of clinical case records and Family Support Plans; monitor participant records for completeness and compliance, including data input into Gandara’s EMR system and the UMASS system for FRC specifically; review case files on an annual basis, or any other frequency, by DCF/ASO;</li>
<li>Provide culturally sensitive and informed training/educational information to all family members, as needed;</li>
<li>Adhere to program and agency policies/procedures; notify Program Director immediately in the event of a crisis, suspected illegal activity, or any behavior constituting an incident in the program;</li>
<li>Represent the FRC in the community and state-wide networking/educational conferences; attend FRC Meetings, agency/department meetings and trainings;</li>
<li>Other duties as requested and assigned by the Program Director.</li>

The Program Manager is fully integrated into the integrated team and provides supervision and guidance to the GLE staff’s efforts to provide direct care and treatment planning interventions. Expectations of the Role:
