This remote role allows mental health counselors the flexibility to provide services from home, while still being an integral part of our outpatient team. Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations through thorough interviews, utilizing standardized assessment tools to document clients' backgrounds and treatment needs.

  • Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans based on comprehensive evaluations of clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
  • \n

  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques that promote self-awareness and healing.
  • \n

  • Monitor client progress by regularly assessing the effectiveness of treatment plans and making necessary adjustments to optimize their recovery.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers, to integrate care approaches tailored to individual client needs.
  • \n

  • Maintain ongoing communication with other mental health specialists to ensure continuity of care, including follow-ups on clients who may require hospitalization.

  • Identify and mitigate any potential behaviors or environmental factors that could impede recovery, while also providing support to family members affected by clients' mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Seaview, you will serve a diverse client population that includes individuals of varying ages, cultural backgrounds, and mental health conditions. Your expertise will help clients facing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your role is essential in fostering a safe and understanding environment, where clients can openly discuss their challenges and achieve their therapeutic goals.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • \n

  • Possession of current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • \n

  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.
  • \n

  • Extensive knowledge of mental health treatment practices with a strong foundation in various therapeutic modalities.
  • \n

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with clients and team members.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Prior experience working in a clinical mental health setting as a counselor or therapist, demonstrating a strong grasp of ethical practices in therapy.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is highly desirable.

  • Awareness of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and current trends in the field.

  • Experience and knowledge related to co-occurring disorders, physical health conditions, and strategies to support clients with addiction issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Seaview Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, in addition to a generous sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
