Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational support within a school setting. The role focuses on delivering tailored instruction and resources to students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic growth and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate hearing impairments.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and audiologists to support student learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Provide advocacy and support for students and families relating to hearing loss and educational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of audiological equipment and assistive technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with students, families, and educational teams.
  • Ability to create inclusive and accessible learning environments.
