Associate Attorney-Civil Litigation, Medical Malpractice & Construction Litigation
Job Description
Adler, Cohen, Harvey, Wakeman & Guekguezian, LLP, a mid-sized civil litigation firm with offices throughout New England, is seeking experienced lateral associates to join our growing litigation practice. We are currently hiring attorneys for two distinct practice areas: Medical Malpractice Defense and Construction Litigation, with opportunities in our Boston, Massachusetts and Bedford, New Hampshire offices.

We are seeking attorneys with 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, professional liability, medical malpractice, construction, or other complex civil litigation. Candidates may have experience in either of our principal areas of need.

Medical Malpractice Defense: Associates in our medical malpractice practice defend physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals and institutions in complex professional liability matters. This is a trial intensive practice group, and the position offers substantial exposure to sophisticated issues and opportunities to take and defend depositions, work directly with medical experts and clients, handle substantive motion practice, appear in court, and participate in cases through trial.

Construction Litigation: Associates in our construction practice represent developers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and other construction-industry clients in construction defect, construction-site injury, contractual indemnity, and related complex litigation. The position provides opportunities to develop expertise in construction contracts, industry practices, building and safety codes, expert issues, and the allocation of risk and responsibility among project participants.

Across both practices, our associates are given meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to develop as litigators. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced trial attorneys while assuming increasing responsibility for all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, expert discovery, dispositive motions, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation and participation. We are looking for attorneys who are driven, organized, intellectually curious, and interested in developing the judgment and skills necessary to independently manage complex cases.
