We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile legal professional to join our team as Deputy General Counsel, based in our Vermont office. This pivotal role requires a candidate who can provide comprehensive legal counsel across a broad spectrum of legal issues critical to a growing technology business.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing timely, practical, and strategic legal counsel to senior leadership, executive management, and various cross-functional teams on complex legal and business matters
  • Developing and implementing company-wide corporate policies ranging from commercial contracts to internal governance
  • Advising the business on a high volume of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, customer sales agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and strategic partnership agreements
  • Counseling on all aspects of labor and employment matters, including hiring, performance management, workplace policies, and compliance with federal and state labor law.
  • Ensuring compliance with global data privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), maintaining privacy policies, and advising on data governance
  • Guiding the company on legal and regulatory requirements related to international operations, including export control compliance
  • Overseeing the company's insurance programs, reviewing coverage needs, and advising on legal risks to mitigate exposure
  • Assisting with the maintenance of corporate records, regulatory filings, and internal corporate procedures

The team you will be joining:

Our legal team is integral to OnLogic's operations, managing contract negotiations with customers and suppliers, ensuring adherence to all domestic and international statutes, and overseeing the expansion of our trademark and patent portfolio. A key focus is also placed on trade compliance, guaranteeing global management for all inbound and outbound shipments. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
  • 7+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer admitted to a bar within the United States
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience
  • Multi-disciplinary legal experience; M&A experience is a plus
  • Ability to work onsite at our South Burlington, VT office

  • A clear communicator who can explain legal concepts and articulate important principles to non-legal departments
  • Working knowledge of the Google product suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • A collaborator skilled at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with superiors, colleagues, and external contacts

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $170,000 to $210,000. We determine final compensation based on discussions with applicants and their experience in similar roles:
