The SQA Co-Op/Intern follows Cognition's Software Quality Assurance process and assists the team in designing and developing manual test cases, executing tests, submitting defects, and other tasks as requested. This involves working closely with the QA team and participating in various activities during the software testing cycle. This person at times supports Cognition's technical support team to investigate and report defects found by Cognition's customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Execute Cognition tests, including Agile test cases, validation tests, verification tests, and directed testing
- Engage as an SQA team member to provide support for design, development, and maintenance of test plans and manual tests for Cognition's products
- Test and diagnose product defects and provide clear and concise defect reports back to the development team
- Assist with developing software validation to support medical device customers
- Be flexible and adaptable to meet the often-changing needs of a small and growing company
- Know and fulfill responsibilities for SQA tasks with urgency, passion, and energy
- Assist other departments in the company as requested
Qualifications and Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a technical college degree with an excellent understanding of computers and technology
- An understanding of test design, test execution, defect reporting, and tracking
- Willing to develop good understanding of software development life cycle and quality assurance methodologies
- Ability to think outside the box to organize and write test cases covering all possible use cases
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented nature with good organizational skills
- Strong initiative and desire to learn
Desired Experience
- Some coding or scripting experience
- Knowledge of medical or pharma development or desire to learn how the regulations are utilized by the software
- Ability to write clear documentation
Working Environment
- Office working environment. Limited physical activity, mostly seated throughout then day, continual use of hands for typing, vision requirements for continual computer screen viewing, regular phone calls/online meetings, may need to lift up to 5 lbs, low noise levels.
