Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in a heart and vascular critical care setting requiring a MA RN license and advanced cardiac care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is in a hospital's 30-bed Heart and Vascular Critical Care Unit (HVCC) and 32-bed Medical and Neuro ICU
- Primary patient population includes medical and surgical cardiac, post-cardiac surgery, STEMI, cardiac arrest, heart failure, sepsis, ESRD & AKI requiring CRRT, post-arrest, and neuro critical care cases
- Advanced cardiovascular and critical care devices utilized such as IABP, Impella, Heartmate 2 and 3 LVAD, RVAD, ECMO, and CRRT
- Typical patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
- Float may be required to intermediate care (IMC) units and InterCare as needed
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts
- Unit cares for high-acuity patients including those undergoing open-heart surgery and advanced cardiac procedures
- Supportive staff structure with nurses sometimes out of count and ample ancillary staff
- Floating is required similar to unit staff
- Advanced certifications including CCRN and device competencies are preferred but not required
- Open to experienced ICU nurses; new graduates with minimal experience are not suitable

- Active MA RN license required
- Certifications required: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year Level 1 ICU or 2 years preferred MICU experience
- Strong ICU background with competency in advanced cardiac and critical care devices preferred
- Submission requires 2 professional references and copies of all active certifications
