Our client is seeking an Childcare Teacher (Infant/toddler) to join their early childhood education team in Danvers, MA. A Day in the Life of the Childcare Teacher (Infant/toddler)
In this role, you’ll guide young children through critical stages of social, emotional, physical, and academic development. You’ll create a safe, engaging, and structured classroom environment while working closely with families and colleagues. Your work directly supports the center’s mission of fostering early learning and building a strong foundation for lifelong success.
Responsibilities include:
- Support children’s development across social, emotional, physical, and academic areas
- Maintain a professional and positive work ethic while collaborating with teachers and assistants
- Build strong relationships with families and maintain open communication
- Observe and document children’s developmental progress through notes, checklists, and portfolios
- Create and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with curriculum and individual needs
- Prepare and complete student progress reports בהתאם to center policies
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff members
- Maintain organization of classroom materials and daily operations
- Attend and participate in staff meetings
- Complete ongoing professional development in child development and special education
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized classroom environment
- Follow all applicable standards including NAEYC guidelines, DOE criteria, EEC regulations, and company policies
- Maintain classroom and individual child portfolios
- Collaborate with parents and specialists to support each child’s development
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Infant/toddler teaching experience
- Must meet Teacher qualifications as defined by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)
- Associate’s degree in early childhood education or a related field
- Prior experience supporting early childhood development - social, emotional, physical, and academic
- Ability to create lesson plans and track developmental progress
- Ability to meet all personnel policy requirements
- Strong communication and partnership skills with families
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and engage in physical activity throughout the day
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and actively participating with children
- Strong observational skills and attention to safety at all times
