Schedule/Hours:
- Every other weekend required for travel nurses
Gain valuable experience in an Emergency Department known for handling complex cases, including acute trauma, stroke care, cardiac complications, DKA, and a diverse patient population with multiple comorbidities. This role presents the perfect chance to refine clinical assessments, collaborate with a large multidisciplinary team, and work with advanced equipment such as rapid infusers, ultrasound IV tools, and the latest in EMR technology (Sunrise/Allscripts). Exposure to secure psychiatric care areas ensures a well-rounded emergency nursing portfolio.
Desired Qualifications:
- Unrestricted active RN license (at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (all required)
- Proficiency in critical thinking, medical assessments, and communication
- Dependability, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset
- Strong understanding of medical terminology; EKG interpretation skills highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient-centered emergency care across trauma, stroke, orthopedic, psychiatric, and cardiac cases
- Skillful execution of laceration repairs, IV insertions (including U/S and IO), EKGs, eye exams, and cardiopulmonary interventions
- Coordinate initial care under protocol-driven orders, managing labs, imaging, and medication administration
- Maintain professionalism and adherence to attire/safety guidelines (no hooded shirts/sweatshirts)
