Job Title: Milieu Manager | Shift Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Youth Services Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of assigned shifts to ensure a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment.
- Provide direct supervision and support to youth in accordance with DYS regulations, agency policies, and program expectations.
- Ensure implementation of individualized service plans and independent living goals.
- Reinforce DBT skills taught by the Clinician and monitor completion of daily DBT Diary Cards.
- Coach youth in emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, problem-solving, and healthy decision-making.
- Promote Positive Youth Development (PYD) by integrating the Five Cs, DYS Core Values, and the Positive Behavior Incentive Program into daily programming.
- Ensure each youth receives consistent advocacy and mentoring through the Enhanced Advocacy Program.
- Facilitate and monitor independent living skill development, including:
- Budgeting and financial literacy
- Meal planning and cooking
- Household management
- Transportation and community navigation
- Employment readiness
- Educational participation
- Personal responsibility and self-care
- Conduct routine room inspections, wellness checks, and safety rounds.
- Respond to behavioral crises, emergencies, and incidents using trauma-informed and non-coercive intervention techniques.
- Assist with youth admissions, orientations, and successful program transitions.
- Provide transportation and community supervision as assigned.
- Immediately notify program leadership of significant incidents, AWOL events, abuse or neglect concerns, PREA allegations, medical emergencies, or other situations requiring administrative notification.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Program Director or Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must successfully complete all required DYS and agency training. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field preferred; Associate Degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with adolescents or young adults in residential
- care, juvenile justice, behavioral health, or human services.
- Previous supervisory or lead staff experience preferred.
- Experience working with justice-involved youth and trauma-affected populations preferred.
- Knowledge of DYS regulations, trauma-informed care, Positive Youth Development, DBT, and crisis intervention preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain all required DYS, EEC, CORI, SORI, and agency background clearances.
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
- Must meet agency driving requirements.
- Must successfully complete all required DYS and agency training.
Working Conditions
- This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as program operations require.
- May serve in an on-call supervisory capacity as assigned.
- Requires transportation of youth to educational, vocational, medical, recreational, and community appointments.
- Requires responding to behavioral crises and emergency situations within a residential setting.
- Must comply with all DYS regulations, contractual requirements, agency policies, and licensing standards.
- Represents the agency professionally in all interactions with youth, families, DYS personnel, and community partners
