Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teacher license required
- Previous experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to manage diverse caseloads effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in grades 9–12
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet students’ unique learning needs
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and support staff to deliver accommodations and modifications
- Assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to promote academic, social, and emotional growth
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Advocate for students and contribute to a positive school culture
