Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Contract Opportunity

Job Responsibilities:

Administer prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV) and accurately document all treatments.

Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report findings per facility policy.

Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-operative expectations.

Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and clinical assessments.

Operate, monitor, and adjust specialized patient-care equipment; interpret and document. electronic data.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Job Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Active State RN License
-
Minimum 2 years of acute Med/Surg experience.

BLS & ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
-
Strong communication, assessment, and customer-service skills.

- 32-bed general surgical unit (can flex up to 34 beds)
- Fast-paced, highly acute care population
Patient Population
- General surgery
- Colorectal
- Elective weight loss surgery (gastric surgery)
- Urology
- Spinal
- Thoracic
- Trauma
- Ortho-trauma
- Endocrine
- Occasional medical overflow
Patient Ratios
- 5–7 patients (7 is avoided when possible but can occasionally occur)
Experience Requirements
- 5 years of experience or greater
