Located near Bow, NH, this contract role is ideal for educators dedicated to empowering high school students with diverse learning needs. Candidates with a background in managing Life Skills classrooms are highly encouraged, though all qualified special education teachers will be considered.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license required
- Previous experience with high school students and Life Skills curriculum strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage IEPs
- Familiarity with functional goal setting and post-secondary transition planning
- Strong communication skills and capacity to collaborate with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptable, resourceful, and committed to fostering an inclusive educational environment
- Detail-oriented and organized, especially in managing documentation and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate a positive classroom atmosphere tailored to high school students with diverse abilities
- Oversee paraprofessional staff within the classroom, ensuring effective support for all students
- Design, implement, and maintain individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Develop functional goals aligned with each student’s needs and facilitate post-secondary transition planning
- Track and report progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with staff, students, and families to maximize student growth and achievement
