Compensation: $150K - $250K base DOE plus equity
Requirement: 5+ years of Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) design, fiber couplers, wavelength multiplexers, thermo-optic phase shifters, electro-optic modulators
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Photonics Design Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in photonics design, with a strong focus on Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). This role will involve the design and simulation of both passive and active photonic devices, leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies to advance our product offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and simulate photonic integrated circuits (PICs) using Lumerical and IPKISS software.
- Develop and optimize passive and active photonic devices for various applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate photonic solutions into larger systems.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in integrated photonics technologies.
Qualifications
- Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in photonics design, specifically in PIC design.
- Proficiency in Lumerical, IPKISS, and GDSFactory design tools.
- Strong understanding of both passive and active photonic device design concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
