First Realty Management Corp, a leading area property management firm is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in Boston. We are seeking an individual who can work well independently when needed and is skilled in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance work.
Requirements:
- Responds to changes in organization and property by assuming additional responsibilities as needed, such as going to other sites, per the union contract Section 9.6 and posting provisions.
- This individual must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Good communication skills are necessary.
- The individual should be service-minded and take pride in work.
- Shares in on-call rotation/Ability to respond effectively to site emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, and general repair and maintenance duties.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to get to the site in a timely manner to respond to emergencies.
- Ability to use basic computer skills (MS Office, Entrada, RealPage)
- Ability to fill out and complete work orders accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively with site staff and residents.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to safely operate power tools, such as saws and drills.
- Having your own tools is very helpful.
- Prior experience in apartment maintenance is also helpful.
- Must pass pre-employment physical before the start of work.
- Reliable transportation, willingness to travel when needed, and a valid driver's license, with a driving record that is in good standing, required.
Job Functions:- Full-Time, Monday - Friday.
- Meets and communicates with site managers regularly to update each other on on-site issues.
- Assumes on-call responsibilities for unforeseen emergencies, shared with others where applicable, including weather related emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances
- Works with manager to coordinate contracts and oversee contractor activities.
- Responds to daily emergencies and routine service work orders in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintains the appearance of the site by collecting and discarding refuse from common areas and throughout the site daily.
- Performs preventative maintenance schedule per site requirements.
- Maintains a clean and well-groomed appearance, and wears company-issued uniforms.
- Is courteous to residents at all times.
