Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support students across grades K-12, serving a diverse caseload involving elementary through high school students. This contract role, based in Amherst, MA, ranges from ASAP through the end of the school year and provides meaningful classroom engagement in both part-time and full-time capacities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and accommodations tailored to students with special education needs across all grade spans (K-12).
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to promote academic and social growth.
  • Maintain detailed records and participate in team meetings and evaluations.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to each students strengths and challenges.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in special education or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience working with students across multiple grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, best practices, and instructional methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adaptability and commitment to meeting diverse student needs.
