The district is especially interested in SLPs who are monolingual English speakers, as well as those who are bilingual—Spanish/English skills are in the highest demand, but candidates fluent in Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, or Vietnamese are also strongly encouraged to apply. Your expertise will be a vital asset in helping students achieve their communication goals in a multicultural setting.
Qualifications & Preferred Background:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Hold a current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Eligible for state SLP licensure (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in K-12 school settings preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English highly desirable; additional preferred languages include Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, and Vietnamese
- Strong assessment, intervention, and IEP development skills
- Culturally responsive approach to supporting multilingual learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative SLP services for students across grades K-12
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate interventions
