Description Details Research and Development Laboratory Technician The Global Compound Logistics and Operations organization GCLO within the company manages the inventory dispersal and logistics of biological and chemical entities used by Discovery and Development scientists for all aspects of Company drug discovery. Seeking a motivated individual to fill the Laboratory Technician role in the GCLO Pharmacy Lab. This position would be directly responsible for receipt inventory management and dispersals of RD large and small molecule compounds for both order fulfilment and inventory management purposes. The successful candidate will be expected to be proficient at maintaining a high level of concentration and attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks. Capability to work with and troubleshoot laboratory automation is a plus. Possibility to renew for additional year at end of contract. Responsibilities: - Maintaining both physical inventory of samples in proper storage conditions and the software records for this inventory - Maintaining -80C -20C 4C and Ambient Storage Locations - Aliquoting biological materials under controlled aseptic conditions - Weighing out and solvating powder compounds. - Using proprietary shipping software ShipIt to send and track sample shipments - Receiving and stocking of laboratory supplies - Proper disposal of laboratory waste products Significant Work Activities and Conditions - Continuous sitting for prolonged periods more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day - Able to lift 25 pounds What are the top 3-5 skills requirements should this person have? 1. Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task within an environment of shifting deadlines and demands 2. Familiarity with laboratory techniques and practices 3. Biologic material experience is a must 4. Having completed a significant number of biology courses Preferred: - Experience working with a wide range of automated liquid handlers - Accustomed to spending extended periods of time working in a bio-hood - Familiarity with chemical inventory information systems and databases - Demonstrated problem solving skills with strong oral and written communication skills - Able to work independently and within a team setting - Are you open to look at candidates willing to relocate? No - Years of experience/education and/or certifications required: BS or 3 years of experience in biologics sample processing or a related field
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
