Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for grades 1st and 2nd in an elementary school setting, focusing on a self-contained classroom for students with Emotional Disabilities. This contract role begins as soon as possible and continues through the remainder of the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with emotional disabilities.
- Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Monitor and document student progress, modifying instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain classroom management and promote positive behavior interventions.
Qualifications or Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in self-contained settings.
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
