Position Overview

The Residential Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residential program serving individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. This role ensures a safe, structured, and supportive environment while leading and developing staff and promoting independence and quality of life for individuals served.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines staff supervision, program management, and direct support.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Staff Leadership

  • Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Lead DSPs
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management
  • Create staff schedules and ensure proper coverage
  • Lead team meetings and promote a positive team culture

Program Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of the residential site(s)
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing, and agency policies
  • Manage household budgets, petty cash, and program resources
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment

Direct Support & Client Care

  • Support individuals with daily living skills (ADLs), personal care, and independence
  • Assist with transportation to appointments and community activities
  • Implement Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs) and treatment plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support as needed

Medication & Compliance

  • Oversee medication administration and audits
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to protocols
  • Monitor health needs and communicate with clinical teams

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete required documentation, reports, and data tracking
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
  • Communicate incidents, behavioral changes, and updates to leadership

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with individuals with IDD or mental health needs
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation
