A school health professional is needed to provide specialized care for a middle school student with Type I Diabetes in Rochester, NH. This contracted position runs from the start of the current school year through June 15, 2026. The role requires close supervision and collaboration within a supportive nursing environment to ensure the students health and safety throughout the school day and bus transportation times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care to a male middle school student with Type I Diabetes.
- Monitor and manage diabetes care during school hours and bus rides.
- Collaborate under RN supervision (for LPN candidates) to deliver comprehensive nursing support.
- Ensure adherence to diabetes management plans and protocols.
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with school staff and families.
- Accommodate bus riding duties, requiring early start and late end times aligned with student transportation schedules.
Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN license in New Hampshire.
- LPN candidates must demonstrate training and experience in managing Type I Diabetes.
- Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, full-time equivalent, during school hours (approximately 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM) plus additional time for bus rides.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a school setting.
