This comprehensive OB/GYN position provides a fulfilling mix of outpatient care, gynecologic surgery, and inpatient duties, including coverage for our maternity unit. Physicians in this role will engage in scheduled shifts and provide backup support for labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and emergency gynecological care. This position is essential in delivering holistic women's health services throughout the medical center and ensuring continuity of care for patients across the health system.
The responsibilities encompass full-scope obstetric care, management of both routine and complex gynecological cases, and surgical opportunities in the Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center. Our maternity unit benefits from 24/7 in-house anesthesia and CRNA coverage, a significant advantage not commonly found in many community hospitals. Additionally, gynecologic oncology services are accessible through our collaboration with a leading medical institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive prenatal care, conduct well-woman exams, provide contraceptive and preconception counseling, and manage high-risk pregnancies with maternal-fetal medicine support as necessary.
- Administer gynecological care, including annual examinations, assessment and treatment of menstrual and menopausal disorders, contraceptive management, and minor in-office procedures.
- Oversee full-scope coverage for the maternity unit, managing laboring patients and addressing urgent obstetric and gynecological situations.
- Perform gynecologic surgeries in both the Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Collaborate with nurses, midwives, medical students, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage in labor and delivery protocols, quality initiatives, and ongoing efforts to uphold high standards of patient-centered care.
- Work within a system that provides 24/7 midwifery coverage in the maternity unit.
Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR is preferred.
- Open to new or recent graduates.
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to excel in a dynamic clinical environment.
