Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Med/Surg unit night shift position requiring a NH or compact RN license and BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is on a high-acuity Medical/Surgical and Respiratory Care unit with 16 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 4-5, occasionally 6 patients per nurse
- 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a, working every other weekend
- No on-call responsibility required
- Travelers may be asked to float to nearby affiliated hospital locations
- Cerner is the EMR used; prior Cerner experience is preferred
- Weekly orientation is provided prior to starting on the unit
- Returning staff must have a minimum 12-month break in permanent employment to be eligible
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- A local rate applies for candidates residing within a 50-mile radius

- Active NH or Compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
- BLS certification required; NIHSS needed prior to start; ACLS preferred
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of at least 80% during onboarding
- Three professional references are required (two from leadership)
- Critical Care RNs may be considered if comfortable with Med/Surg ratios and acuity
