We are looking for a skilled, positive attitude mechanic to join our team at our Billerica, MA headquarters to perform maintenance and repairs on class 8 tractors, temperature control units, and trailers. In addition to typical equipment service such as PMs and tire replacements, the successful candidate must be willing to learn new technology: vehicle diagnostics, communication devices, and tablets.

Preferred Experience:
· High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
· Valid driver's license (CDL strongly preferred)
· 5+ years experience working as a diesel mechanic
· 5+ years hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, and diagnostics experience
· Knowledge of Diagnostic tool system
· Experience working as a Mechanic on heavy commercial trucks and trailers
· Working knowledge of ThermoKing and Carrier temperature controlled units
· Experience with Tablets and App technology
· Familiarity with federal annual Inspection criteria
· Able to conduct inventory and order parts as needed

· Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines
· Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems
· capable of performing maintenance on tractors and trailers
· Able to mount/dismount truck/trailer tires
· Capable of performing safety checks on equipment
· Capable of coupling/decoupling and moving equipment around the terminal
· Prepare and enter work orders into Fleet Management System
· Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary
· Prepare work orders and order parts
· Maintain a clean and safe workplace
· Knowledge and experience with electrical and hydraulics
· Must have the ability to lift, push or pull 70+ pounds, climb heavy equipment, and bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods
· Must have strong communication and listening skills and be able to read, write and speak English
· Must be able to obtain a security clearance

Pay
· $33-36/hour based on skills/experience; some overtime
Schedule
· Full Time
· M-F 40 hours / week
· Day shift 9a-6p ideal or 10a-7p
