Mechanical Engineer – Plumbing & HVAC Design (Full-Time or Part-Time)

An established MEP engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead and oversee Plumbing design for a wide range of multidisciplinary building projects.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, municipal, and educational facilities. This role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout the design and construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction documents.
  • Perform site visits, field investigations, and existing condition assessments.
  • Provide construction administration support, including shop drawing review, responses to RFIs, and coordination with contractors.
  • Participate in system commissioning and start-up verification.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, energy standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design for building systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical codes, energy codes, and design standards.
  • Field experience with installation, system troubleshooting, or commissioning is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
