Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A unique opportunity awaits passionate Occupational Therapists interested in impacting a student’s life through individualized support. This contract assignment involves working 1:1 with a student in a residential hospital setting near Hampstead, NH, as part of ESY (Extended School Year) services. There is also the potential for this assignment to extend into the 26/27 school year, depending on the student's needs.
The student is new to occupational therapy services, so a gradual, adaptable approach is essential. You’ll collaborate closely with hospital staff, coordinating flexible sessions and adjusting strategies as the student's comfort and readiness evolve.
Key Qualifications:
- Current New Hampshire Occupational Therapy license (required)
- Experience with school-based occupational therapy preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration with hospital staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and patience working with students initiating therapy services
- Ability to design and adapt therapy sessions for gradual acclimation
- Previous 1:1 or pediatric occupational therapy experience is advantageous
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized OT sessions to a single student within a residential hospital environment
- Collaborate with hospital staff to schedule sessions, primarily Mondays and Fridays between 8:15 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Develop short and long-term goals in coordination with the educational team
- Provide progress updates and support documentation for ESY compliance
- Adjust session duration and intensity to match the student’s evolving needs
