Job DescriptionReal Estate Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Real Estate Associate Attorney with 4–6 years of commercial real estate experience to join a growing real estate practice.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling complex commercial real estate transactions, particularly leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and construction matters. Experience with real estate finance transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine financings and equity investments, as well as related due diligence, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions
- Handle acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing, and leasing matters
- Draft and negotiate commercial leases and related agreements
- Assist with construction and development matters
- Represent developers, sellers, purchasers, landlords, tenants, institutional investors, and lenders
- Handle real estate finance transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine financings and equity investments
- Conduct and oversee real estate due diligence
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas to provide comprehensive client service
- Communicate directly with clients and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of demonstrated commercial real estate experience
- Strong experience with commercial real estate transactions, particularly leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions
- Experience with construction matters preferred
- Real estate finance experience, including mortgage and mezzanine financing and equity investments, preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills
- Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team
- Proactive approach with the ability to develop creative and practical solutions
- Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction where the candidate will reside and active good standing required
Work Environment
The firm offers a hybrid work environment, allowing attorneys to work remotely up to two days per week while maintaining the benefits of in-office collaboration.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range is $180,000–$230,000, depending on geographic location, experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and other relevant factors.
