Role Description The Counter Sales team member provides in-person sales and service support to plumbing and HVAC contractors and retail customers at the Great Barrington, MA location. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for greeting customers, assessing needs, and recommending appropriate products and solutions. Day-to-day tasks include processing orders and returns, preparing quotes, maintaining product knowledge on inventory and new offerings, and ensuring accurate and efficient use of the point-of-sale system. The role also involves coordinating with warehouse and showroom staff, keeping the counter area organized, assisting with merchandising, and supporting training for customers on product features. The Counter Sales team member contributes to a positive, professional customer experience and helps drive store sales and repeat business.

- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with a diverse customer base and team members.
- Sales and Sales Management abilities to drive counter sales, upsell related products, and support store sales goals.
- Training skills to help customers and colleagues understand product features, benefits, and proper use.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, or related building materials is preferred; willingness to learn technical product information is essential.
- Comfort with point-of-sale systems, order entry, and inventory lookups; basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work on-site in Great Barrington, MA, including standing for extended periods and handling moderately heavy products with proper technique.
- Previous retail, trade counter, or wholesale distribution experience is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or industry-related training is a plus.
