Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and valid Moderate to Severe Special Education Teaching license
- Experience or background in special education, particularly within K–8th grade populations
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, parents, and other educational staff
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with moderate to severe learning needs, addressing individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student abilities and learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students
- Maintain accurate documentation for student progress, IEPs, and ongoing evaluations
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement, growth, and independence
- Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions as required
