Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Gastroenterology

Location: Peterborough, NH
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $19.90–$27.00/hour, based on education and experience

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy Gastroenterology practice in Peterborough, NH. The CMA will provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and the clinical team while delivering professional, compassionate care to patients.

This is a full-time, day-shift permanent position with no weekend schedule currently listed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Perform blood draws, injections, immunizations, and laboratory testing within the scope of MA certification.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist patients with movement to and from examination rooms as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms.
• Assist with medical records, referrals, laboratory slips, and other clinical documentation.
• Take and return patient phone calls as directed by the physician.
• Provide patients with instructions and information as directed by the physician.
• Requisition and maintain adequate medical and clinical supplies.
• Assist with nursing procedures as directed by the physician.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager or clinical coordinator.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant education/training.
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
