Established law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to support attorneys and clients with probate and trust administration matters.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of trust and probate administration.
- Prepare Massachusetts and federal estate tax returns, including Form 706.
- Prepare probate pleadings, correspondence, legal documents, and accountings.
- Track and organize estate assets, including spreadsheets and financial records.
- Review bank and investment statements and assist with asset reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate client files and supporting documentation.
- Research and apply applicable Probate Court rules and procedures.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, financial institutions, and other parties.
- Manage multiple matters independently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Trusts & Estates paralegal experience.
- Experience with probate and trust administration.
- Hands-on experience preparing Massachusetts and U.S. estate tax returns.
- Working knowledge of Probate Court procedures and estate accountings.
- Familiarity with trust/estate accounting software preferred.
- Associate degree with paralegal studies preferred; bachelor's degree a plus.
- NALA or NFPA certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic document-management systems.
- Highly detail-oriented, dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
