Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Moderate to Severe Special Education Teaching license
  • Experience working with K–8 students in a school setting is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with families, staff, and administration
  • Organizational skills to manage documentation and a diverse caseload
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individual students’ needs in accordance with IEP goals
  • Assess and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimum success
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to promote student inclusion
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and document progress regularly
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions regarding student needs and program adjustments
  • Provide direct specialized instruction in both individual and small group formats
  • Support classroom behavior management and offer positive behavioral interventions
