Job Description

Job Description: The Lumber Yard / Warehouse Associate will be responsible for assisting customers with their lumber and building material needs, ensuring the yard and warehouse is well-maintained and organized, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist customers in selecting and loading lumber and building materials
Maintain a clean and organized lumber yard
Operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials as needed
Restock inventory and ensure product displays are neat and accessible
Perform regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies
Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Assist with deliveries and loading/unloading of trucks

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or similar environment is preferred
Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (training provided if necessary)
Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Ability to work in various weather conditions
