Job SummaryThe Data Engineer is accountable for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data models supporting projects within the Corporate Risk Assurance Data and Systems environment. This role serves as a lead engineering partner, collaborating closely with Data Analysis teams, IT, developers, and business partners to drive solution design and oversee technical delivery.The ideal candidate brings strong technical leadership, hands-on engineering expertise, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and performant data solutions.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, catalog, and maintain data software and pipeline solutions for Corporate Risk and Compliance
- Analyze raw data sets across multiple data technologies and environments
- Combine and transform data from diverse sources and file formats
- Identify opportunities for new data acquisition and optimization
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise IT strategy and architecture roadmaps
- Deliver clean, secure, and high-performing code that meets non-functional requirements
- Participate in design reviews, peer code reviews, and impact assessment sessions
- Create test data, documentation, and support deployments for small to medium complexity solutions
- Work within an Agile framework, continuously improving development processes
- Lead data modeling, design discussions, and guide developers and analysts
- Maintain broad knowledge of analytics applications and self-service reporting tools
- Partner with the COE to enhance data standards, guidelines, and methodologies
- Provide a high level of customer service and take accountability for outcomes
- Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, or analytics roles
- Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and data engineering toolsets
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Power BI, Excel, Databricks, Alteryx
- Experience building data models for reporting and analytics
- Proficiency with structured and semi-structured data formats (JSON, XML, etc.)
- Experience creating stored procedures and integration techniques
- Familiarity with Azure cloud data storage technologies
- Knowledge of end-to-end data architecture patterns and data governance concepts
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience working with large, complex, multi-system datasets
- Python development skills
