Now Hiring: Assistant Head Lifeguard – Yachtsman Pool (Hyannis, MA)
Looking to take the next step beyond a standard lifeguard role? Join our team this
summer at the Yachtsman Pool in Hyannis, MA as our Assistant Head Lifeguard—a
leadership position with increased responsibility and impact.
This role is ideal for a motivated, reliable individual who is available for the full summer
season (Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend) and is excited to play a
key role in daily operations.
Season Schedule:
Pool opens weekends starting Memorial Day Weekend
Full-time operations begin at the end of June
Position Details:
$27/hour
30–40 hours per week
Full summer commitment preferred
Responsibilities include:
Assisting the Head Lifeguard with daily operations
Managing schedules and coordinating staff coverage
Supporting administrative tasks (paperwork, reports, incident logs)
Helping ensure safety protocols and pool rules are consistently followed
Acting as a point of contact for staff and patrons when needed
Supporting team morale and maintaining a positive work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of lifeguarding experience
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience with a swim club, team, or aquatic organization
Experience teaching swim lessons or working with swimmers of varying skill
levels
Additional certifications beyond standard lifeguarding (e.g., Waterfront,
Lifeguard Instructor, CPR/AED Instructor, etc.) are a plus
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Dependable, professional, and proactive
Additional Note:
Candidates not selected for the Assistant Head Lifeguard role may still be offered a
position on our team as a lifeguard, pending qualifications.
