A nursing opportunity is available in Concord, NH for experienced Registered Nurses with Med/Surg Telemetry expertise seeking a contract assignment. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care on a 48-bed MedSurg Telemetry unit averaging 27 patients, emphasizing orthopedic care, IV medication management, wound and drain care, and central line maintenance.
Key responsibilities include conducting thorough head-to-toe assessments, administering IV medications such as Lasix and heparin drips, managing postoperative and ostomy care, and collaborating with the healthcare team during daily multidisciplinary rounds. Nurses will also utilize advanced equipment including Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and remote telemetry monitoring systems, documenting care with Altera/Allscripts Sunrise software.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN license
- Proficient in Med/Surg Telemetry nursing with orthopedic care experience
- Competent in IV medication administration, including drips and IV push medications
- Skilled in wound care, including use of VAC therapy and drain management
- Experience with NGT/G tube care, parenteral nutrition, and central line management
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- Comfortable providing care for patients with foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheters, as well as ostomies
Schedule and Environment:
- Preferred schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, working every other week
- Staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians supporting care delivery
- No required uniform colors; scrubs and closed-toe shoes (no crocs) preferred
