Job Description

Job DescriptionExplore a high-impact career as a Travel Registered Nurse (ICU) in Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont, where critical care excellence meets the chance to shape outcomes and inspire confidence. If you’re ready to lead with skill, compassion, and precision, this ICU assignment offers you the platform to deliver life-saving interventions, coordinate complex care plans, and mentor colleagues in some of the most demanding moments a patient can face. Envision yourself managing ventilated patients, titrating vasoactive drips, interpreting hemodynamics, collaborating with intensivists, pharmacists, and bedside teams, and translating clinical insight into measurable improvements. Beyond the bedside, your work will elevate the standard of care across units as you share best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous learning. And when you’re off shift, Vermont’s pristine landscapes invite renewal—autumn colors along the Green Mountains, tranquil lakes like Caspian or Lake Willoughby in summer, crisp winter days perfect for carving, snowshoeing, and cozy evenings in small town charm.

Location Benefits: Saint Johnsbury Center sits at the heart of Vermont’s welcoming northeast, where community ties run deep and patients value relationships as much as clinical excellence. You’ll enjoy the balance of a warm, walkable town with access to high-quality healthcare networks, artisan eateries, and outdoor recreation that feeds both body and spirit. The region’s safety, clean air, and slower pace provide a restorative backdrop for demanding cardiovascular and respiratory support work. For those who crave variety, our nationwide travel program can offer opportunities to work in other locations across the United States, broadening your professional horizon while you remain supported by a dedicated team. In this role, you’ll have the stability of a guaranteed schedule while also exploring diverse settings, from New England hubs to other communities that align with your lifestyle and career goals.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As an ICU RN on this travel assignment, you’ll lead and participate in the comprehensive care of critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring, invasive lines, and advanced therapies. Responsibilities include meticulous hemodynamic assessment, vent management, medication titration, electrolyte optimization, rapid response coordination, sedation and delirium management, and robust family communication. You’ll document thoroughly in electronic medical records, uphold infection control and safety standards, participate in rounding with the multidisciplinary team, and contribute to unit-level quality improvement initiatives. The role offers room for professional growth—extend your expertise in neuromonitoring, sepsis protocols, ECMO considerations, or palliative care planning as you rotate through ICU care pathways. We provide competitive benefits designed to support you throughout your assignment: a sign-on or completion bonus, housing assistance to ease relocation, and extension opportunities that let you deepen your impact by returning for successive contracts. You will have 24/7 support from our traveling program team, ensuring you never navigate patient needs, housing, or logistical questions alone. With 36 guaranteed hours per week and weekly pay ranging from $2,119 to $2,197, you’ll enjoy financial clarity and consistency while focusing on delivering outstanding care. Start Date is 02/11/2026, and this assignment spans multiple weeks, with the duration defined by the needs of the unit and your preferences, providing flexibility within a robust support structure.

Company Values: Our organization is built on empowering staff to advance their careers while maintaining a supportive, inclusive work environment. We believe in recognizing clinical excellence, offering ongoing education and mentorship, and providing stable pathways for professional advancement. You’ll be part of a culture that prioritizes patient outcomes and staff well-being alike, fostering teamwork, resilience, and leadership at every level. We’re committed to your development—from onboarding through mastery—so you can pursue specialty certifications, enhanced critical care skills, and leadership opportunities that reflect your evolving goals.

Call to Action: If you’re a dedicated ICU nurse ready to make a meaningful difference in a dynamic travel setting, apply today. Embrace a role that partners clinical prowess with personal and professional growth, in a location that blends small-town warmth with regional access and outdoor adventure. Join us to advance your career, expand your expertise, and contribute to a care team that values your expertise and commitment.

Note: Hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
