Job Title: Sleep Lab Technologist – Respiratory / Polysomnography (Travel Contract)
Location: Falmouth, MA 02540
Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8-hour shifts (07:00–17:30 or 08:00–18:30), non-rotating
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 14 weeks
Position Overview
A community-based acute care hospital in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Sleep Lab Technologist / Polysomnographic Technologist for a 14-week travel assignment within its Sleep and Respiratory Diagnostics program.
This role focuses on conducting diagnostic sleep studies, operating polysomnography equipment, and supporting physician-led evaluation of sleep disorders across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. The position emphasizes clinical accuracy, patient-centered care, and adherence to established sleep lab protocols within a collaborative diagnostics environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate polysomnographic and respiratory diagnostic equipment
- Perform overnight and daytime sleep studies as ordered by providers
- Monitor and record physiological data during sleep studies (EEG, airflow, oxygen saturation, respiratory effort, and related parameters)
- Assist physicians in sleep disorder diagnostics and evaluations
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards
- Provide clear patient education and support before, during, and after sleep studies
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper functioning of sleep lab equipment
- Prepare and manage sleep study rooms, supplies, and equipment readiness
- Support care for a diverse patient population across all age groups
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
- Current CPR certification
- Prior experience in sleep lab or respiratory diagnostics preferred
- Proficiency in operating polysomnography and related diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently on a non-rotating day shift schedule
- Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
Preferred Experience
- Hospital-based sleep lab or respiratory diagnostics experience
- Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Exposure to inpatient or outpatient diagnostic departments
- Strong troubleshooting skills for sleep study systems and equipment
