Job DescriptionDuties & Responsibilities: Crane Technician:
- Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
- Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
- Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
- Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed.
- Perform electrical and /or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
- Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
- Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
- Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
- Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), tools, etc.
Education & Qualifications: Crane Technician:
- 5 or more years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
- Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
- Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
- Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
- Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
- Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
- Ability to work independently.
- Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
- Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
- Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
- Required to use own hand tools and meter.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
