This role is designed for individuals passionate about enhancing the learning experiences of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, with a focus on fostering effective munication and developmental growth.
Location:Framingham, MA
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized support to students aged 3-19 who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with educators and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Assist in the development of munication skills, utilizing ASL as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with experience in healthcare and/or school settings.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience working in school-based therapy.
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or willing to learn; school provides lessons.
- Previous experience with deaf or hard of hearing populations is a plus.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
