Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years occupational therapy experience required.

An opportunity has emerged for a dedicated professional to support students within a K-12 educational setting. This role is designed for individuals passionate about enhancing the learning experiences of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, with a focus on fostering effective munication and developmental growth.

Location:Framingham, MA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized support to students aged 3-19 who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborate with educators and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in the development of munication skills, utilizing ASL as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with experience in healthcare and/or school settings.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience working in school-based therapy.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or willing to learn; school provides lessons.
  • Previous experience with deaf or hard of hearing populations is a plus.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
