Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Coolant Specialist with a strong Chemistry background for one of our top semiconductor clients. The role will revolve around the mission of developing a novel product for the data center space. As the industry shifts toward liquid cooling, this role will be instrumental in designing a new solution to monitor coolant chemistry and detect early signs of failure. You’ll work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to explore electrochemical sensing technologies. Your work will span hands-on lab experimentation, strategic product design, and direct engagement with data center operators and technology stakeholders. Pay ranges from 40-70/hr based on qualifications and years of experience

Key responsibilities include: Leading the conceptualization and development of a coolant monitoring solution. Collaborating with cross-functional teams on electrochemical sensing and fluid analysis. Engaging with external partners and managing third-party research efforts. Participating in product strategy, lab setup, and build-vs-buy evaluations. Conducting expert interviews and help with shaping the direction of the product. Balancing technical exploration with real-world application in data center environments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with propylene glycol-based coolants (PG25) within the data center space
  • Deep understanding of the chemistry behind PG25.
  • Firsthand exposure to coolant system failure modes (e.g., degradation, corrosion, contamination). Familiarity with coolant loop design and operational challenges.
  • Strong background in industrial cooling systems, with a focus on the intersection of chemistry and thermal management.
