The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the security of our manufacturing facility to ensure the safety and security of personnel, equipment, materials, and company property. This role involves managing security staff, enforcing security policies, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with Senior Manager of Security Operations, develop security policies and procedures specific to manufacturing operations, including access control, perimeter security, and visitor management; ensure enforcement of policies and procedures
- Monitor and secure entry/exit points, warehouses, production areas, and restricted zones
- Implement and maintain surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, motion detectors) and ensure they are fully operational
- Supervise and schedule security guards and officers
- Conduct training sessions on security protocols, emergency response, and workplace safety
- Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching as needed
- Conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and emergency drills
- Investigate security incidents, breaches, or accidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with corporate security standards, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Senior Manager of Security Operations, HR, Safety and Operations teams on security-related matters
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, security logs, and access reports
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in security operations, law enforcement or military, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (manufacturing or industrial environment a plus)
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills; knowledge of physical security systems and access control technologies; ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions; demonstrated ability to lead investigations, conduct interviews and prepare proficient incident reports; and trained in deescalation procedures
- Certifications: CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk both inside and outside throughout 8 - 10-hour shifts
- Able to lift 30+ pounds
This role operates in a manufacturing facility where conditions may include exposure to loud noise, fluctuating temperatures (hot or cold), and moving machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
