Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide compassionate and expert psychiatric nursing care on a specialized adult inpatient psychiatric unit serving patients ages 18 to 65. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to support individuals coping with a range of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnoses. Care for medically acute patients on the unit with needs such as IV therapy, CPAP, wound care, and diabetic management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver holistic nursing care to an adult psychiatric patient population within a 30-bed unit.
  • Competently manage psychotropic medications, monitor side effects, and conduct patient assessments.
  • Utilize electronic health records for thorough documentation, preferably with EPIC system.
  • Operate automatic medication dispensing systems and IV pumps reliably.
  • Perform admissions, discharges, and assume charge nurse duties when required.
  • Maintain patient safety following Massachusetts Department of Mental Health regulations including restraint, seclusion, and legal statuses.
  • Participate in a rotating shift schedule covering days, evenings, nights, with no more than 2-3 shifts per time block.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification in de-escalation techniques.
  • Proficiency with EMR charting, psychotropic medication management, IV care, and diabetic patient care.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory standards in psychiatric nursing.
