Job Summary
Shining Rock Golf Club is seeking a high-energy, dedicated Head Golf Professional to lead our golf operations. As the premier destination in the Blackstone Valley, our facility features the award-winning 18-hole championship course "The Rock" and the brand-new 9-hole short course, "The Acorn." The Head Professional is responsible for delivering an exceptional experience for all guests and passholders, overseeing the golf shop, managing a diverse tournament schedule, and driving revenue through innovative programming and instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Golf Operations Management:
- Direct all daily golf activities, including tee time management, pace of play, and the golf car fleet.
- Oversee the practice facilities, including the new driving range with grass hitting stalls and target greens.
- Maintain a high profile with members and guests to ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Tournament & Event Execution:
- Plan, promote, and execute a comprehensive calendar of club tournaments, corporate outings, and charitable events.
- Utilize digital scoring and GPS-enabled cart systems to enhance event experience.
- Retail & Financial Performance:
- Manage the pro shop, including inventory control, merchandising, and vendor relationships.
- Assist in developing and managing the annual golf operations budget and achieving revenue goals.
- Staff Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a professional team, including Assistant Professionals and outside service staff.
- Ensure all staff uphold the highest standards of customer service and safety.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Certification: PGA Class A Member in good standing optional, not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf operations, with previous Head Professional or lead Assistant experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., GHIN, Golf Genius) and POS systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and a "golfer-first" mindset.
- Eligibility: Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 5 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, in various weather conditions.
