This full-time role focuses on life skills and intensive needs at the 5th and 6th-grade level, offering you the chance to develop close relationships with just three students in the program this year. Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility) for K-6 or appropriate range
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, especially with life skills/intensive needs populations, is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and case management
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Compassion and creativity in adapting curriculum and approaches to individual needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as case manager and primary teacher for 5th/6th grade students in a life skills/intensive needs classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and families
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet student needs and learning styles
- Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and student progress
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment focused on growth and independence
